A founding member of the senior management team at Tundra Semiconductor, Rick played a key role over a 15 year period in the overall growth of Tundra serving as the chief technology officer and vice president of strategic marketing. In this role, he drove overall corporate strategy and innovation within Tundra and was responsible for delivering next-generation products to manufacturers in the embedded market. Rick initiated and lead multi-million dollar M&A transactions with Motorola Semiconductor (now Freescale), IBM Microelectronics, Intel and Texas Instruments. Prior to Tundra, he worked as a Project Engineer in the Avionics industry for five years and as a Design Engineer in the Aerospace industry for three years.
Rick received an Executive MBA degree in 1996 from the University of Ottawa. In 1984, he graduated with honors from the faculty of Electronics Engineering Technology at Algonquin College.

Richard is a proven industry executive with nearly 30 years of experience. Richard has held key technical, marketing, strategic and executive roles in both startup and large-company environments. His expertise is in the synthesis of change management skills to help turn companies take current non-performing technologies into new directions or the development and fielding of new technologies targeting high-growth markets. A key member of the senior management team at Quantum Effect Design (QED), he played a key role in the transition of QED from a design house to fabless semiconductor company and enabled the company to grow from $0 to $250M/yr in business in 5 years, successfully go public and be bought by PMC-Sierra for $2.4B. In his role at Integrated Device Technology, he drove overall corporate strategy to drive the transition into the packet processing arena. Richard initiated and lead and supported multi-million dollar M&A transactions with NewWave and Solidum. Prior to QED, he worked as DSP Product manager for NEC Electronics developing cell phone chipsets and other system-level solutions. Prior to NEC he worked in multiple technical, marketing, strategic and regional management roles at Texas Instruments.
Richard received an MS Engineering Management degree in 1984 from the Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. In 1978, he graduated with distinction with a B.S. Engineering Physics degree from The Ohio State University.
